Graphic Design

Graphic Design is a field which I have been experiencing since 2015 while I was studying Creative Media at MCAST. I worked on projects involving both my assignments and personal projects during this period.

In late 2016 I switched my course to Interactive Media where I had to learn a bit more about Graphic Design. Some of the projects I've worked on included posters for a fictitious exhibition titled "It Could've Gone Worse!" and an illustrated storybook titled "Alter Ego".

It Could've Gone Worse - Posters & Tickets

It Could've Gone Worse is a fictitious exhibition created solely for a school assignment where I had to design 3 different posters as well as tickets promoting the exhibition and its events.

We were free to choose to design the posters and tickets with any theme of our liking. Since I am a life long gamer I opted to make the posters/exhibition gaming related.

Artworks related to gaming have various styles. For my posters and tickets I decided to go with the retro- 8 bit game look for my posters.

In both sectors I utilised the same colours and aesthetics to maintain consistency.

Alter Ego Pages

Alter Ego is an illustrated storybook I've done during my first year of Interactive Media, where I had to learn a bit of Graphic Design.

The aim of Alter Ego was to deliver a personal story of an issue I've encountered at least once in my life through an illustrated storybook.

Some of my major life issues involved internal conflicts, usually revolving around anxiety and the inability to socialize for a huge portion of my life. As such, I based my storybook on these issues in question.

The type of graphical style to be used for the illustrations was up to our liking. I opted to go for a manga-like illustration style, since I enjoy reading such books, but apart from that I am accustomed to drawing characters in black and white, which, by choosing the manga art style, worked in my favour.

A huge portion of the story's elements was taken from one of my favourite anime series, most notably the part where the main character interacts with his "evil" alter ego in his head, and only he can see him.

Photo Manipulation

Photo Manipulation

Photo Manipulation is an area of Graphic Design I do not do very frequently but once in a while I manipulate photographs either to correct mistakes, deliver a message, enhance the look of the photo or, in rare cases, make something completely unrealistic.

Most of the manipulations I've made so far were for school assignments.

Artworks

Artworks

The final area of Graphic Design which I focus on is designing artworks completely from scratch, where I design posters, flyers and artworks for various mediums including social media websites and print (Go to It Could've Gone Worse Section for one such example)

I experiment with various styles when producing such artworks, such as Comic/Pop Art illustrations and Flat Graphics amongst others.

So far most of my artworks have been done during my spare time, one of the major exceptions being It Could've Gone Worse.
